I don’t KNOW where they is, Joe …

Anybody else do a double-take at the headline on Joe Wilson’s op-ed piece this morning?

Where’s the jobs?

Yeah, I know — it’s supposed to be a takeoff on “Where’s the beef?” But totally apart from the fact that we all got tired of “Where’s the beef?” at the time, which I suppose is why it went away (I picture focus groups taking the facilitator out and tarring and feathering him by the end), I’m not sure that’s a good enough excuse for something so jarringly wrong.

Say what else you may say about it, “Where’s the beef?” was at least grammatically correct. So, for that matter, was “You lie!” But this… I just don’t know, Joe.

But do me this favor, Joe — when you do find the jobs, throw some of them this way…

It’s the typical political hack response to our national economic situation. He doesn’t make any sense nor did his positions of blindly supporting the Bush Admin. It’s all about gaining political advantage.

Maybe if Joe spent, uh, fewer time capitalizing, literally, on his rudeness, and waiting for the federal gummint to fix things despite the endless obstructionism of the Republican party, and more time actually doing something to bring/save/create more jobs in our state (see, Thurmond, Strom)….

    Where be the statesmanship, Joe?

Here’s what really bugs me about the Republicans who cry, “Nothing is being done. Nothing is being fixed.”

Stop rolling logs and being obstructionist. Let the Democrats do their best. Then, if and when it doesn’t work, start kvetching.

–or are you afraid the Democrats might actually be able to fix what you broke?
